We recognize sustainable land development involves knowledge and skills that span multiple disciplines within and outside of civil and environmental engineering. The number of elective courses is meant to foster this type of interdisciplinary thinking. The program is unique within the Department because it opens up opportunities for students to explore how sustainability, planning, and engineering design work together in multiple ways and through multiple course options.

Dr. Tripp Shealy, gives an update about the program during the annual Land Development Design Initiative (LDDI) Winter Meeting. Our goal for this graduate program is to become recognized nationally for our students advancing sustainable land development within the industry.
